The Basics


What's Up With The Labels?
-We're Just Ordinary People is when I review some place that you'd eat at any ol' time of week, usually BYOBs or ethnic joints that tend to be affordable.
-Street (Food) Fight is when I compare two street foods from two different street places (e.g., Gino's East vs. Renalli's deep dish). Or I just eat something that doesn't fall into any of the other categories.
-Oh You Fancy, Huh? is when I review places that are more expensive (usually $40 per person with drink, starter and main dish, before tip). Because, let's face it, you fancy, huh?
-Seasons Shmeasons is when I eat or drink stuff you usually only eat/drink during a particular season (like eggnog at Christmas, or foie gras during film festival season).


My Foodlosophy Grading Scale
A descriptive and wildly inconsistent method of evaluating dishes. May be employed or not employed at my discretion. All grades should be described at the bottom of the review but I make no promises.
